The Team
The team brings directly relevant experience and a solid track record in education, television and video production, Internet applications, and launching digital ventures. We also have an Advisory Board of competent and experienced subject matter experts to help guide our efforts. The current KTK team includes the following individuals:
– Larry MacDonald is founder and CEO of Edison Innovations, Inc., which created a unique process to solve pressing social problems that was used to develop the Kids Teaching Kids program. Larry has over 20-years experience and extensive professional experience in entertainment technology, education, internet applications development, strategic planning, marketing, and professional photography. At UC Berkeley, Larry taught Marketing Research and Business Planning. He hosted the world’s first online Entrepreneurs Conference for 10 years on the WELL (Whole Earth ‘Lectronic Link).
– Hollie Webster is a member of the Intuition Network board and part of the management team at Edison Innovations. Hollie has been in the marketing communications arena for 20 years and has led a dozen consumer product launches and go-to-market efforts including child development products for Infant Advantage, Worlds of Wonders' Teddy Ruxpin, and Nationwide Marketing, the direct marketer of kitchen technology products, which pioneered the use of infomercials. Hollie's public relations work for Bring Me A Book Foundation, and The Taylor Family Foundations' efforts on behalf of special needs children, currently leverage her experience in media relations and social networking, with social programs she embraces.
– Cliff Figallo has been a leader in the evolution of the social Internet for 20 years. He managed one of the earliest and most influential ancestors of Web community at the WELL and has since managed consumer communities online for AOL, Genentech, IBM, Salon.com and Cisco Systems. He has authored books on community management and the use of online conversation as a knowledge sharing practice. Cliff has also used viral marketing to launch startups and has been a participating author in the blogosphere for five years.
– Dr. S. Loren Cole is currently CEO and Chairman of Inquiring Systems, Inc. and serves on the board of six other companies. Dr. Cole’s educational background is both unique and extensive. He has four university degrees including being the only person ever awarded a Ph.D. in Ecosystemology from the UC Berkeley. He is a specialist in the understanding and management of whole ecosystems and has a number of significant educational achievements. Dr. Cole was the founder and principal developer of the Conservation and Resource Studies major at U.C. Berkeley, where he designed, developed and taught its first courses in Environmental Education, Environmental Planning & Management, Environmental History, etc. Dr. Cole also co-founded and participated in, with other faculty, the design and establishment of the California Environmental Education teaching credential requirement for K-12 schools. Dr. Cole has successfully acquired in excess of $140 million in grants, investments, contributions, loans and bond financing capital for both ISI and client projects. In addition, Dr. Cole has helped to obtain in excess of $230 million in private and public contracts for ISI sponsored projects and clients. Dr. Cole has won numerous awards and commendations, has been an invited guest on hundreds of national and international radio, television and internet sites and has published articles and papers related to his areas of expertise.
